Solve the Corrupt Health Care System

prescription for change

This is what the United States does NOT have and what me + Michael Moore think is the prescription for the health care system.

What can you do???

1. Ask congress to pass H.R.676, which is a bill that will allow the United States to have free health care like Great Britain, France, and Canada (among other countries).

Sicko

sicko

I just watched the movie Sicko, I know its very late and that movie was released two years ago, but I want to speak out about it because truth be told that most students at my school don't know about these types of issues.

The film is mainly about the disgusting facts about our health care system, how we don't have the much needed free health care and the insides/outsides of it. I cannot explain our health care system as Michael Moore does and even though he is notoriously accused of biased editing in all of his films, he cannot edit out all the grotesque facts that Sicko reveals. Please watch the movie Sicko if you have not already.

Currently, Showtime is airing Sicko now through March 5th, check it out!

Comes from the Soul

Words can be spun around all over the universe,
but music can only, but not limited to spewing from…
What?
Who?
Who says that words are words,
that music is music,
that rhythm and poetry is artistic,
that these are my own chosen words?…
Because it comes from the soul.

Jennifer Beals- a combination of many wonderful things

She has an undying love for peace, is very wise, and she is truly a seeker. Basically she is beautiful inside and out. Just look and you will see why.

"To love, to love to love, even when you think the heart is exhausted by anger and fear and hurt and disappointment and the latest presidential election. To love. That is the larger task which connects us all. That is the narrative to which I hope we all can strive"
-Jennifer Beals

(note- this quote was said during the time George Bush was elected)

Art

To me art or photography is made to show us the beauty in things.

We wake up:
morning

We drive to our destinations, our daily routine:
Photobucket

We come home to a evening sky:
blue sky

And we fall asleep with the moonlight cascading onto the sheets:
moon light cascading the night

But what most of us don't see is the beauty in the peaking sunlight in the morning, the wonderful sights of the urban works, the painted perfect clouds at sunset, and the little circle of cuteness that peaks through the clouds. So the next time you step out the door, try to look for the beauty in all the little things that we usually never notice.

The Navajo-San Juan Indian Water Rights Settlement

Thirty four years ago, a dispute between the state of New Mexico and the Navajo Nation began over the resources in the San Juan River. Recently in 2005, the Navajo Nation agreed to give up 44 percent of its water rights claims to the San Juan Basin.

The deal was that Navajos would have rights to more than 600,000 acre-feet of water, that's 56 percent of the San Juan Basin. But more importantly, the state of New Mexico would build pipelines that would run all through the Navajo Nation (see map below).

navajo nation pipelines
Proposed Navajo Pipeline Map
This is a detailed map of the proposed Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project. The proposed pipelines on this map could bring running water to 60,000-70,000 Navajo people. Funding for these pipelines depends on a proposed $800 million apportionment from the US Congress.

Today, about 70,000 people, especially Native Americans, are living without running water and the bill is still in the hands of some politician.

I recommend checking out "The Water Haulers," a video documentation on this issue:
